Pickleball (18+)

 
Pickleball is a unique paddle sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It is a low impact sport that can be played at any pace.

Recreational Pickleball : This is a recreational program that will  run 5 days a week Monday-Friday Jan 8 - June 21, 2018.  This program is for players who have some experience with the game and feel comfortable with their ability to play. Players can reserve a spot each day by calling the Centre after 9:00 am for the Monday-Friday time, 
 Court is limited to 12 players. Once the 12 spots have been filled the court will be closed to others. This program is for participants to get together with others to enjoy a fun afternoon of pickleball. Drop-In Fee is $3.00. Punch cards of 10 punches will be available for $20.00.  Age: 18+ 
 
Beginner Pickleball: This is an instructional drop-in for the first time player as well as someone who is a novice and requires more instructional on the rules/and more confidence and experience with the game. The program will run Wednesday and Friday Jan 24 - Feb 16. Time 12:30-1:30 pm. Group size will be limited to eight. The drop-in will be facilitated by an experienced pickleball player. Drop-in fee $3.00. 
 
 

 Tai Chi for Health           

Tai Chi is an effective form of exercise to improve health and well being. It exercises the entire body and at the same time calms the mind. Although this gentle Tai Chi program has been designed specifically for people with osteoporosis, it would have health benefits for everyone. It is safe for all levels of ability. Take the first step on your journey to better health by joining us in a small class environment for this 8 week series.

Introduction to Yoga  

 
Gentle Beginner Yoga - explore the practice of yoga in a way specially designed for beginners of all shapes and sizes in a welcoming atmosphere. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottles, blanket, and yoga blocks (if you have them).

 Bellyfit 
 
 Bellyfit is a holistic experience for women that blends the power and wisdom of ancient cultures with the research, technology, and trends of the modern world. Inspired by Belly Dance, African Dance, Bhangara, Bollywood dance styles and eastern martial arts traditions. Bellyfit is combined with yoga and Pilates to form a safe, fun, and effective full-body workout. Please wear your favourite athletic shoes and workout clothes bring  water and a  yoga mat.

LeBARRE takes the hottest trend in dance-inspired exercise, ballet barre training, and uses the Lebert EQUALIZER for Balance, Agility, Resistance, Working Recovery and Eloquence, to create a format suitable for every level of exerciser. LeBarre is a workout like no other!  Squat, plié, lunge, and arabesque your way to a better you using ballet and pilates inspired exercises at your very own barre in this unique, small-group class.  LeBARRE is a barefoot exercise class.  No dance experience required. Please bring water and a yoga mat.

 Top Hats and Roses Senior's Fitness Club
 
Looking for a great fitness program for seniors? This program is low impact in nature and an excellent venue for those who have a balance or coordination issue. There are specific exercises for anyone suffering from arthritis. Various types of equipment are used and provided such as: tubing, balls and weights. Chairs will be provided for participants who find it difficult for some types of floor exercises to ensure they still benefit from the exercise. Every class ends with stretching, flexibility and relaxation exercises for the entire body. Exercise is done to music from the 50"s to 80"s! Fun is had by all and everyone is welcome. A schedule of the program is provided. Programs runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00-12:00 pm. Drop-in fee $5.00 or a punch card for 10 sessions for $40.00.

Boot Camp
 
Are you looking for a way to get on the track to fitness ? Do you love the motivation of a group class dynamic? Are you tight for time but want a solid workout, then give our Boot Camp a try! This camp will consist of exercise stations. Exercises can be modified to fit the ability and fitness level of participant.

 Nia Dance

 
 Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) combines natural movements from three dance arts (Modern, Jazz, Duncan), three martial arts (Aikido, Tai Chi, Taekwondo) and three healing arts (Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander technique). It is a holistic barefoot movement practice that is guided by 'sensing inward' and 'feeling good'. Nia can help improve flexibility, mobility, agility, strength, and stability as well as encourage posture, grace, balance, co-ordination, cardiovascular and cognitive function, and self-confidence.
