Pickleball (Adult)

 
Pickleball is a unique paddle sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It is a low impact sport that can be played at any pace.

Recreational Pickleball: This is a recreational program that will run 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) Jan 7 - June 28 1:30 to 3:30 pm. This program is for players who have some experience with the game and feel comfortable with their ability to play. Players can reserve a spot each day by calling the Centre after 9:00 am (call after 9 am Monday for Monday afternoon, after 9 am Tuesday for Tuesday afternoon, etc.).
Court is limited to 12 players. Once the 12 spots have been filled the court will be closed to others. This program is for participants to get together with others to enjoy a fun afternoon of Pickleball. Drop-In Fee is $3.00 or a punch cards for 10 visits are available for $20.00.  Age: Adult 
 
 
 

Tai Chi for Health           

Dr. Paul Lam developed the Tai Chi for Health program which has been shown by medical studies to improve health &wellness. Although this particular program was designed to benefit people living with arthritis, it offers health benefits for everyone. Improve your balance, posture, muscle strength & flexibility while having fun in a small group setting.

 Introduction to Yoga  
 
Gentle Beginner Yoga - explore the practice of yoga in a way specially designed for beginners of all shapes and sizes in a welcoming atmosphere. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottles, blanket, and yoga blocks (if you have them).

 Bellyfit  
 
 Bellyfit is a holistic experience for women that is inspired by Belly Dance, African Dance,Bhangara, Bollywood dance styles. Combined with yoga, pilates, and strenght training equipment. This class is a safe, fun, and effective fullbody workout for exercisers of all fitness levels. Please wear your favourite athletic shoes and workout clothes bring  water and a  yoga mat.

 LeBARRE  


LeBARRE is a blend of traditional ballet practice, strength, training and pilates. In LeBarre you will work at your own barre to build strength, agility, and endurance, with an emphasis on lower body exercises. Squat, lunge, pile and curtsy your way to a strong base.  LeBARRE is a barefoot fitness class-be prepared to work in your bare feet or grippy "yoga" socks class.  Please bring a water bottle and a yoga mat.

Capoeira

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music. This eight week session is designed for beginner-level and up. Throughout the session you will learn a wide variety of things: martial arts movements like kicks and dodges as well as basic acrobatics and musical elements. By the end of the session, you will be surprised at what you can do.

 Top Hats and Roses 50+ Fitness 
 
Looking for a great fitness program for seniors? This program is low impact in nature and an excellent venue for those who have a balance or coordination issue. There are specific exercises for anyone suffering from arthritis. Various types of equipment are used and provided such as: tubing, balls and weights. Chairs will be provided for participants who find it difficult for some types of floor exercises to ensure they still benefit from the exercise. Every class ends with stretching, flexibility and relaxation exercises for the entire body. Exercise is done to music from the 50's to 80's! Fun is had by all and everyone is welcome. A schedule of the program is provided. Program runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. Drop-in fee $5.00 or a punch card for 10 classes for $40.00.

Nia Dance 
 
 Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) combines natural movements from three dance arts (Modern, Jazz, Duncan), three martial arts (Aikido, Tai Chi, Taekwondo) and three healing arts (Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander technique). It is a holistic barefoot movement practice that is guided by 'sensing inward' and 'feeling good'. Nia can help improve flexibility, mobility, agility, strength, and stability as well as encourage posture, grace, balance, coordination, cardiovascular and cognitive function, and self-confidence.
